THE HUBBLE MISSION

Image credit: NASA›Sept. 5, 2008 Space shuttle Atlantis' crew members visited NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Friday to familiarize themselves with some of the equipment they'll use during their mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope. Next week, the astronauts will continue their training activities at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston.On Thursday afternoon, Atlantis arrived at Kennedy's Launch Pad 39A following its slow trek from the Vehicle Assembly Building. The shuttle assembly was secured at the pad at 3:52 p.m. EDT, more than six hours after the rollout began.Atlantis is targeted to launch Oct. 10 on mission STS-125.
